    1. 2015-2019—Project Leader of the Evolution mechanism of the ecohydrological processes in shallow macrophysic lakes and its integrated regulation framework, the project is a Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a fund of 3.66 Million Yuan.

    2. 2012-2016—Project Leader of the Incorporating climate change into environmental flow assessment and regulation, the project is an International Science & Technology Cooperation Program between China and United Kingdom, with a fund of 3.5 Million Yuan.

    3. 2011-2014—Project Leader of the Research and demonstration for networking services technology system of water quality evaluation, water quality simulation, and early warning & forecast for pollution risk in the Middle Route of Chinese South-to-North Water Transfer Project, the project is a National Science and Technology Support Program, with a fund of 8.4 Million Yuan.

    4. 2012-2017—Team Leader of the Water environment, water ecology and integrated management of watershed, the research team is the National Innovative Team Development Plan under the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a fund of 12 Million Yuan.

    5. 2010-2013—Project Leader of the Mechanism of ecological risk and security regulation for dams, the project is a Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a fund of 2 Million Yuan.

    6. 2008-2010—Project Leader of the Environmental flow management and aquatic ecosystem regulation in the Baiyangdian Basin, the project is a Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment, with a fund of 16 million Yuan.

    7. 2009-2011—Team Leader of the Water environment, water ecology and integrated management of watershed, the research team is led by me as the Chiang Jiang Scholars and Innovative Team Development Plan, Chang Jiang Scholar Program under the Ministry of Education, with a fund of 2 Million Yuan.

    8. 2006-2010—Leading Scientist of the Hydro-ecological process, water-environment effect and integrated control for ecological security of wetlands in Huang-Huai-Hai region, China, the project is a National Key Basic Science Research (973) Program, funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology with 29.65 Million Yuan.

    9. 2007-2010—Project Leader of the Environmental hydraulics, the project is implemented with a National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholar of 2 Million Yuan, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

    Achievements and Publications

    He has published more than 20 books on water environment management, urban ecological planning, ecological engineering, and nearly 400 peer-reviewed papers on the journals like: Environmental Science& Technology, Water Research, Journal of Hydrology, Ecological Modelling, Environmental Pollution, Journal of Environmental Quality, Journal of Environment Management, Bioresource Technology, Water Resources Research, among which over 200 are international peer-reviewed journal papers.
